- 500g ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 🍅 For the Tomato Sauce:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes or 3 fresh tomatoes, grated
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp cayenne (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- 👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a bowl, mix all meatball ingredients thoroughly. Shape into small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a pan or tagine over medium heat. Brown the meatballs lightly on all sides, then remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic until fragrant. Add tomatoes, paprika, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Return meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 10–15 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro before serving.
