🧡 Story

Moroccan Spiced Coffee, or Gahwa, is a fragrant-scented beverage steeped in cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. It’s not coffee, actually — it’s a comforting Moroccan ritual — warming, slightly sweet, and richly deep. Perfect for cold mornings or after supper

  • Ingredients :
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp ground coffee (Arabica or espresso blend)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1–2 tsp sugar (to taste)
  • Optional: a few drops of orange blossom wate
  • 👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
  • In a small pot, bring water to a gentle boil.
  • Add the ground coffee, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.
  • Lower the heat and simmer for 3–4 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.
  • Add sugar to taste and stir gently.
  • Optional: add a few drops of orange blossom water for a floral aroma.
  • Pour carefully into cups, leaving the grounds at the bottom of the pot.
  • Serve immediately, ideally with Moroccan sweets like Kaab el Ghazal or Fekkas.

🍋 Tips / Notes

💡 For a richer version, brew with a mix of coffee and milk. You can also adjust the spice level — Moroccan Gahwa is flexible and personal!
